The Catholic Youth Movement (CYM) of NU gathered on 21 November 2025
for a joyful pre-Christmas celebration held from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00
p.m. Members arrived as early as 5:30 a.m. for a special day of
fellowship and preparation, strengthening their bond as a united
youth community.
The event was coordinated under the leadership of David, President
of CYM NU, and Catherine, the General Secretary, with the support of
the executive committee. In his introduction, David expressed
gratitude to all members for coming together and contributing to the
success of the celebration.
Fr. Stephen D’Souza, Spiritual Director of the youngsters of NU,
delivered an inspiring message, reminding everyone not to lose sight
of Jesus amid the external festivities, decorations, and dancing
that often accompany Christmas. His words encouraged the youth to
embrace the true spirit of the season.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Fr. Melvin and Bro. Melrish
presented soulful renditions of Christmas carols. Mr. Effort also
performed a heartfelt song, further enriching the evening’s cultural
segment.
Before the meal, Fr. Melvin led the gathering in a prayer of
gratitude, invoking blessings on the food and fellowship. The
youngsters had prepared a festive meal, which everyone enjoyed
together, marking a beautiful moment of unity and celebration.
The program concluded with a strong sense of togetherness and joy,
reflecting the spirit of Christmas and the vibrant community life of
CYM NU.
