Visitation of the General Minister Fr Roberto Genuin to St Pio Capuchin
Delegation of Sri Lanka
It was a gracious and Joyful occasion for the Capuchin Delegation of Sri
Lanka, as the General Minister, Fr Roberto Genuin, paid a Fraternal Visit to
the Friars from 03 May to 07 may 2026. He was graciously accompanied by Fr
Lawrence Soosainathan, The General Councillor and Fr Robin Victor DSouza,
The Provincial Minister of Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka.
St Pio Capuchin Delegation of Sri Lanka, warmly and joyfully welcomed the
distinguished guests with flowers and garlands as a sign of respect and
fraternity. The Student Friars enriched the occasion with a heartfelt
welcome song, adding beauty and cultural harmony to the gathering.
Following the formal welcome address, the friars shared a fraternal meal and
engaged in meaningful interaction, especially with the Pakistani brothers,
strengthening bonds within the Capuchin family.
During the visit, the General Minister personally met the friars, listening
attentively to their experiences and offering guidance, encouragement, and
spiritual insight. He emphasized commitment to formation, fraternity, and
faithful service, assuring his continued support.
On the following day, the community celebrated a solemn Holy Mass. In his
inspiring message, the General Minister encouraged the brothers to remain
deeply rooted in the Lord, highlighting that challenges in religious life
can be overcome through deeper communion with God. He also urged the
community to foster unity, harmony, and mutual support.
In the days following the General Minister Visited the Friaries and closely
observed and appreciated the Mission and Social initiatives of our Friars in
Sri Lanka.
The visitation concluded as a grace-filled moment of renewal, strengthening
the community’s commitment to live their Capuchin vocation with joy, unity,
and fidelity.
