Inauguration and blessing of the newly built School building of St Francis of Assisi School, Dolu, Silchar, Barak valley
The inauguration and blessing of the newly built School building of St Francis of Assisi School, Dolu, Silchar, Barak valley took place on March 12, 2024, at 10:30 am. Most Rev. Dr Stephen Rotluanga, Bishop of Aizawl, Mizoram, blessed the school building and Rev. Fr John Alwyn Dias OFM CAP, Provincial Minister, Holy Trinity Province Karnataka inaugurated the school by unveiling the plaque. The formal programme began by lighting of the lamp by the honorable guests.

Most Rev. Dr Stephen Rotluanga, Bishop of Aizawl, congratulated the great efforts of Capuchins in Silchar Barak Valley region and thus wished all success in their future endeavors. Rev. Fr John Alwyn Dias OFM CAP. Provincial Minister, Holy Trinity Province Karnataka also recalled and appreciated the dedication and commitment of pioneer missionary friars and the present Capuchin friars thus he said that the dream of 25 years has come into reality.

The honorable MLA, Mr Misbahul Islam Laskar and respected Mr Dilip Khor, the Village Head, expressed their best wishes for the management of the school and the development and progress which is going to take place in the coming days. They promised their support and all the help needed to the school administration and their undertakings.

The Priests, Relegious Men and Women and esteemed guests were also honoured by the Provincial Delegate Fr Stany Roshan Dsouza and his councillors Fr Godwin and Fr Arun Fernandes.

The Capuchins remembered with gratitude the Bishops and specially Most Rev Dr Joachim Walder, the Auxiliary Bishop of Aizawl Diocese, Mizoram, Silchar - Barak Valley.

The great occasion was well represented by lay people from 18 mission centres along with the Catechist and the Church Leaders.

Fr Lancy Rebello,OFM Cap welcomed the gathering and Fr Paul Olwyn D'Almeida,OFM Cap. proposed a vote of thanks. Fr Walter Dsouza,OFM Cap. Compered the entire programme.
