A Joyous day at Darshan Institute of Theology
On Saturday 29th of June 2013 on the day of Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul, 8 capuchin brothers from Karnataka, 6 capuchin brothers from Maharashtra and 3 TOR brothers and 1 Carmelite brother were Ordained as deacons by His grace Most Rev. Bernard Moras the Arch bishop of Bangalore, at 3.00p.m., in Darshan Institute of theology, Bangalore. The gracious event was held during the Eucharist. The Eucharist began with a melodious choir group of theology students guided by Fr. Salvadore Fernandes. The fathers from four jurisdictions represented their major superiors in their absence. Along with Arch bishop we also had the joy of having Fr. Denis Moras the vicar general of Mangalore diocese an eminent personality. The whole event was witnessed by many priests and religious, and faithful above all by the parents of the candidate who were ordained. At the end of the celebration Fr. Jossy Fernandes the Rector of Theology thanked His grace Rev. Bernard Moras, arch bishop of Bangalore for ordaining our brothers and thanked the whole congregation for witnessing this grace filled event. The whole celebration ended with the felicitation programme for our deacons and with a high Tea offered by the community of Darshan Institute of Theology. As we congratulate our brothers we also wish them a fruitful diaconate ministry. We also thank the Rector, Staff and student of Darshan Institute of Theology for organizing this event.
