Ordination of Deacon Vincent Raj, Sunday May 1, 2022, the Capuchins
welcomes a new Priest, Father Vincent Raj, in the Archdiocese of
Bangalore
As the Church celebrated the feast of Saint Joseph, the Archdiocese of
Bangalore rejoiced over the ordination of its new priest. Deacon Vincent
Raj was ordained to Holy Priesthood by the Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras,
Archbishop Emeritus of Bangalore. The Sacrament of Holy Orders took
place at 10:30 at Saint Ignatius Church, Begur on Sunday May 1, 2022.
Father Vincent Raj belongs to the congregation of the Order of Friars
Minor Capuchin (OFM Cap) and chose as his motto "I am your portion and
your inheritance" {Numbers 18:20}.
During the Holy Eucharist, the priestly candidate professed his
allegiance and obedience to the Archbishop and his successors, after
which the Archbishop Moras blessed and anointed him with the sacred
chrism to perform the sacred duties. The Archbishop congratulated and
thanked the parents and the family members of the ordained Priest. After
his ordination, the newly ordained Father Vincent Raj enjoyed a festive
meal with the congregation.
