Christmas Vocation Camp - 2019
Christmas Vocation Camp was held at St Anne’s Friary – Assisi House on 28th of December 2019. There were about 26 students from different parishes of Mangalore and Udupi diocese. Four of the Capuchin brothers doing their theological studies at Darshan Institute of Theology – Bengalore, animated this one day’s camp under the leadership of Fr Jawahar, the vocation director of the Karnataka Capuchins.

The main focus of this Camp was to celebrate Christmas with the young aspiring students. The camp began with the Christmas carols. There were about 3 sessions of talks. In the first session, the students were made known the origin of the Crib in 12th century by St Francis of Assisi the founder of our Franciscan Order. Fr Rohan Lobo, the assistant director of Vimukti Social Work center, Ujire conducted the second session and introduced the wonderful social work done by the Karnataka Capuchin Province in the different parts of the world. The third session was conducted by Fr Jawahar. He called upon the students to make their life exciting with good challenges. Taking risk in life for the mission of Christ is worth it. There is joy in living for others. A Call to the Franciscan Capuchin way of life is a call to the wholeness. God will not let down those who wish to serve him. These were the inspiring messages and thoughts the students carried home. The brothers from the theology entertained the students with their inspiring vocation stories, team building games and activities and the students were gifted with some wonderful prizes. The students were served with a tasty lunch, icecream and evening juice and snacks. The camp began at 9.30 am and concluded by 4.30pm.
