Undertakes Canonical Visitation to St Clare Institution, Akuluto
Akuluto, August 8, 2026: The Provincial Minister of the Holy Trinity
Province, Karnataka, Fr Robin Victor D’Souza, undertook a canonical
visitation to St Clare Institution, Akuluto, on Friday, 7 August 2026. The
visitation covered the various institutions and ministries entrusted to the
Capuchin community, including St Clare Friary, St Clare Catholic Church, St
Clare Hostel and St Clare School.
As part of the visitation, a special programme was organized at St Clare
School to warmly welcome the Provincial Minister and his companions. The
programme was marked by colourful cultural presentations, choreographies and
traditional dances performed by the students. Through their vibrant
performances, the students showcased the rich cultural heritage and
traditions of Nagaland, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.
Addressing the students, Fr Robin Victor D’Souza appreciated their talents
and encouraged them to give importance to their education. He reminded the
students that education is one of the most valuable possessions they can
acquire. “Focus on your education. No one can take away the knowledge you
gain,” he told the students, encouraging them to make the best use of the
opportunities available to them.
The Provincial Minister was accompanied by Fr Manoj D’Souza, Provincial
Delegate of the Infant Jesus Delegation, Nagaland–Manipur, and Fr Joywin
Dias, Vicar and Provincial Secretary. Their presence added significance to
the visitation and provided an opportunity to interact with the students,
teachers and members of the local community.
During the canonical visitation, Fr Robin also met with the Catholic
community of St Clare Church, Akuluto. The parishioners expressed their
gratitude to the Provincial Minister and the Holy Trinity Province for their
continued support and pastoral care. They particularly thanked the Province
for sending Fr Stephen D’Souza, and Fr Melvin Anthony to serve the community
and attend to their spiritual and pastoral needs.
The Provincial Minister also reviewed the various records and documents
pertaining to the church, school and hostel. He carefully examined the
documentation and offered several suggestions aimed at improving the
systematic maintenance, organization and preservation of records. His
guidance was welcomed as an important step towards strengthening the
administration and documentation of the various institutions.
The visitation provided an opportunity not only for administrative review
but also for fraternity, pastoral interaction and encouragement. The
Provincial Minister’s interaction with the students, staff, friars and
parishioners strengthened the bond between the local community and the
Province.
The visit to St Clare Institution concluded on Saturday, 8 August 2026. Fr
Robin Victor D’Souza, along with Fr Manoj D’Souza and Fr Joywin Dias,
departed from Akuluto to continue their canonical visitation at Lazami.
