Pastoral Visitation – Holy
Family Friary, Brahmavar.
Provincial minister Rev. Fr John Alwyn Dias conducted the Pastoral
visitation of the Holy Family friary Brahmavar on 10-11 August 2023. The
Visitation began with the Holy Eucharist, where the Parish Priest cum
Guardian Fr John Fernandes, welcomed the Provincial minister along with
provincial secretary, Br Joywin Dias. The provincial minister presided over
the Holy Eucharist and prayed for the community members and the
parishioners. Later the Provincial gave the addressed the friars through an
introductory talk. This was followed by meeting the friars personally. Later
in the evening members of the parish council met the provincial for a brief
discussion. On the following day Provincial visited the cemetery, the tomb
of Servant of God Fr. Alfred Roche OFM Cap. At 11.30 there was a community
dialogue, where the various aspects of community life and the ministry in
the Parish were discussed. Provincial thanked the friars for their service
and availability for Pastoral care in the Parish as well as for a good
community life, especially commending their love and concern towards elderly
friar Br Dominic. The Pastoral Visitation concluded with prayer and
benediction.
