PASTORAL VISITATION – CLARA
INSTITUTIONS, POTHNAL, RAICHUR
The Pastoral Visitation contributes to the inspiration and renewal of
fraternal life and unity of the brothers. The Pastoral Visitation by Rev Fr
John Alwyn Dias, Provincial Minister of Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka to
the Clara Vihar Pothnal, Raichur began from 12th August 2022 to 14th August
2022. He offered the Holy Eucharist on 12th August 2022 and prayed with the
friars and brothers of the community. He briefed about the purpose of the
Pastoral Visitation that it is a time of grace and we praise and thank God.
Every human being need a time to renew, revive, re-energize to work, serve
and live life worthily. God always accompany us and works with us, in us and
through us. The more we allow God work in us, the more we will see His grace
flowing in us and in the ministry we are assigned to carry out in this
world.
At 10:00 am Provincial animated an introductory session to address various
concerns and need of the hour. Every challenges we face makes life strong.
After the session Provincial met the brothers and the friars individually.
On the next morning on 13th August 2022 a warm welcome was extended in the
Sneha Jyoti School run by the friars. Provincial encouraged every student to
achieve the dreams they have and thanked every teachers and the management
for bringing out best from the students and working for their
all-round-development.
In the afternoon Provincial visited the Vimukti Charitable Social Center and
the Children Care Home. He dialogued with the Staff and the Director who
have been instruments in touching the lives of the poor, the helpless women
and the children from past many years. He appreciated them for their
dedication, their belongingness and collaborative spirit in achieving the
desired goals and targets. In the evening Provincial paid a short visit to
Anugraha convent where three of the Ursuline Franciscan sisters reside and
help by teaching in the Sneha Jyoti School.
On Sunday, 14th August 2022, he celebrated Holy Eucharist for the faithful
from Pothnal region. He preached a suitable homily as he broke the Word of
God for the faithful. He explained about the various types of fire we have
to face and win victory over sin and death. Jesus, as we know is the Prince
of Peace but the Gospel of the day speaks of fire and destruction that he
wishes to bring amidst us. When we rightly understand what Jesus wishes us
to know, we find true meaning in His words. Truth will reign supreme even
though we face number of challenges, dejections, rejections and moments of
grief. God has an answer in all that we face and endure through His grace.
After the Holy Eucharist, he met the people of God. In the afternoon the
Pastoral Visitation was winded up with a benediction.
