FEAST OF ST CLARE CELEBRATED
AT ST CLARE CHURCH, AKULUTO
The Feast of St Clare was celebrated with great joy, devotion and enthusiasm
at St Clare Church, Akuluto, on 23 August 2026.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Brayan Antony
D’Souza, who also preached a beautiful and inspiring homily in Nagamese,
making the message of St Clare meaningful and accessible to the faithful.
The celebration was blessed by the presence of several priests from the
neighbouring parishes and friaries. Fr Yesudas and Fr Roshan Sequeira came
from Capuchin House, while Fr Johnson Fernandes represented Infant Jesus
Friary, Kuhuboto, and Fr Anil Kumar represented St Francis Parish, Lazami.
The presence of the diocesan clergy added further joy to the celebration. Fr
Ashiko Abraham, Parish Priest of St Peter’s Church, Atoizu, joined the
celebration along with the FSMA Sisters, while Fr Isaac Swu from St Joseph
Parish, Aghunato, was also present. Students and Professors from Nagaland
University, Teachers of St Clare school and some students of St Clare school
added colour to the celebration through their presnece.
Immediately after the Holy Mass, a cultural and fellowship programme was
organised, bringing together the parish community, guests and well-wishers
in an atmosphere of joy and fraternity. The celebration concluded with a
sumptuous fellowship meal served to all.
The Feast of St Clare was truly a memorable occasion, marked by faith,
fraternity, gratitude and the joyful participation of the entire Catholic
community.
