DAY 5 OF THE CHAPTER HOLY TRINITY PROVINCE, KARNATAKA X PROVINCIAL CHAPTER – Joy,
Fraternity, and Forward Vision Mark Day 5 of the Provincial Chapter
Bengaluru, April 25, 2025:
Day 5 of the X Provincial Chapter of the Holy Trinity Province,
Karnataka, began in a spirit of devotion and thanksgiving. The morning
Eucharist, held at 6:15 AM, was presided over by Br. Manohar Dsouza, a
Silver Jubilarian, while Br. Vinod Mascarenhas, also celebrating his
Jubilee, delivered a powerful homily, calling the friars to be part of a
Church that stands with the poor, marginalized, and downtrodden.
The capitulars assembled in the Chapter Hall at 9:00 AM, beginning with
a prayer. Br. Lawrence Soosainathan and Provincial Minister Br. Robin
Victor took their places on the dais, with Br. Rocky D’Cunha moderating
the morning session. A key highlight of the day was the address by Br.
Giacomo Franchini, Provincial of Emilia Romagna, Italy, translated by
Br. Paolo Raffaele. His talk emphasized fraternity, international
collaboration, and mission renewal.
The Chapter then moved into intense discussions on various apostolic
engagements, including the OFS (Secular Franciscan Order), pastoral and
counselling ministries, and the media, print, and education apostolate.
A reflective moment of prayer was held at 11:30 AM for the continued
renewal and vitality of the Province.
In the afternoon, at 3:00 PM, under the moderation of Br. Joseph Dolphy
Pais, the focus shifted to the missionary dimension of the Order,
followed by a comprehensive report from Br. Paul Melwyn, Chairperson of
the Commission for Formation.
The final session of the day, moderated by Br. Anil D’Costa at 6:00 PM,
addressed matters related to Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC),
administration, and other miscellaneous topics.
Br. Maxim D’Silva, Chapter Secretary, expressed heartfelt gratitude to
all the moderators for their guidance and coordination throughout the
day.
The day concluded on a celebratory note with a vibrant cultural
programme, reflecting the fun, diversity, joy, and unity of the
Franciscan fraternity.
