Easter Joy at
Celebration at St. Clare Catholic Church Akuluto - Nagaland
St. Clare Catholic Church joyfully celebrated Easter on Sunday, April
20, 2025, with a solemn Mass at 9:00 AM. The main celebrant for the
solemnity was Rev. Fr. Stephen D’Souza, the Parish Priest. The
celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of
Nagaland University, who added to the joy of the occasion.
In his homily, Fr. Stephen spoke about the profound significance of
Easter, emphasizing the victory of life over death and the hope that the
resurrection of Christ brings to all believers.
Immediately following the Mass, a heartfelt farewell was given to Br.
Edmund Mughavito, who had been serving at St. Clare Church and School as
a regent. Br. Edmund came to gain pastoral experience and became an
integral part of the community during his time of service. Fr. Stephen,
along with the entire Catholic community, expressed their gratitude and
best wishes to him.
In his address, Fr. Stephen encouraged Br. Edmund with the words: “Don’t
just become a priest, become a devout priest.” His message served as an
inspiration not only to Br. Edmund but to all present.
The celebration concluded with a fellowship meal, lovingly organized by
the Catholic community, fostering togetherness and joy in the spirit of
Easter.
