The Formation Conference of Holy Trinity Province – 6 to 8 April 2021
The Formation Conference of the triennium 2019 – 2022 took place from April 6th to 8th 2021 at Shanti Sadhana, FISI, Bengaluru. It began with the prayer and inaugural session that included lighting of the lamp by Dr. Pushparajan, resource person for the Formation Conference, Br John Alwyn Dias, Provincial Minister and all the Councillors. Dr. Pushparajan, thereafter addressed the Formation Conference attendees on the topic “Laity’s expectations of Priestly Formation”. He touched upon the various challenges the laity are facing in the present life situations and their expectations from the religious and clergy. How equipped the clergy are in all spheres of life, may it be spiritually, academically, morally, psychologically and socially. After the input session, the reports with the current challenges of each formative stage were presented which was moderated by assigned friars. After the presentation the points of the agenda of the Formation Conference were deliberated. As fruitful discussion was carried out, feedback and suggestions were taken into consideration for the better implementation and development of the Formation of the formees in all our formative stages. The Chairperson of the Formation Commission, Br William Prabhu proposed vote of thanks and with the Prayer the Formation Conference was concluded. Br Joel Lopes who celebrated his birthday on 6th April 2021 was wished during the lunch on the same day and Br Charles Furtado and Br Dolphy Pais, as the completed 30 years of their Priestly-life, were felicitated on 8th April 2021. We thank all the brothers who made all the preparations and arrangements to make it a successful event.
