Monthi Fest – Saccidananda- Bangalore Bangalore, September 08: On the 08th of
September as the Mother Church Celebrates the Nativity of Blessed Virgin
Mary, the community of Saccidanand, Capuchin Provincialate of the Holy
Trinity Province – Karnatak, along with the faithful celebrated this
traditional feast in a very grand scale. The celebration began at 7.00
a.m. in front of the Portico, main celebrant of the Ceremony Fr. Andrew
Anil Sequeira, welcomed faithful to honor mother Mary. The gathered
faithful as token of love and tradition offered the flowers to Mother
Mary, after which the Main celebrant blessed the new corn. After the
brief opening ceremony the faithful along with the celebrant proceeded
towards the Chapel for the Eucharistic Celebration. The homily for the
Mass was preached by Fr. Robin Victor D’souza. The superior of the house
Fr. Joachim D’souza, wished the faithful a happy Feast and also thanked
the faithful for their generous contribution towards the flowers, corns
and sugarcane. After the Mass as the faithful proceeded to their homes,
they never forgot to take with them the new corns to mark this
traditional occasion of MONTHI FEST.
