Celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary
at Kripalaya- Mysore. On the eve of nativity of Blessed
Virgin Mary, Kripalaya brothers had conducted nine days of novena prayer
service, starting from 31st August, 2015. It commenced with great
spiritual enthusiasm and culminated with a grand finale. The last novena
prayer service was held in the open area of our Kripalaya garden
surrounded by beautiful greenery, at the foot of Mother Mary’s grotto.
It was a perfect ambience of eco-spirituality and nature meditation,
reflecting upon the virtuous life of our blessed Mother Mary.
The theme of the prayer service was “ Mary- A candle in Darkness.” The
Kripalaya Brothers gave a beautiful enactment based on this theme with a
message. The message was that we all need to be a candle in darkness.
Always eager to lit this world living in darkness by coming out our
comfort zone and stepping into the darkest zone of this world, where a
candle is required to give out light unto all that are in darkness.
Thus, overcome darkness
The feast day of the Nativity of Blessed virgin Mary began with morning
prayer, followed by a tradition of blessing the first harvest of the
earth. Thereafter, offering flowers to the Infant Mary as a sign of
honour and respect to her. Then it was followed by a short procession of
BVM around Kripalaya campus which ended with a solemn entrance into the
Eucharistic celebration.
The main celebrant was Rev. Fr. Santa Lopes, the Rector along with the
con-celebrant Rev. Fr. Liguory Noronha. During the homily, the main
celebrant enlightened the congregation on the importance of this feast
day, enumerating various traditions and customs attached to the feast
all round the world. Also, reminding the congregation to pray for all
the mothers in the world including our mother earth. The mass ended with
the distribution of the newly blessed first harvest grains among the
congregation gathered.
