St. John Mary Vianney Parish Bhopal
began their journey of badminton tournament on 16th October at Bsss
college auditorium. There were 24 teams of the neighbouring
parishes. The match was inaugurated by the Fr. Michael Fernandes the
General Councillor of the Capuchin Order.
20th of November was the great day for St. John Mary Parish Youth,
as they were on the last day of their achievement. The much awaited
Final Match began at 4.30pm between Nehru Nagar parish and Marthoma
Parish. The match went on for three sets. The first set was won by
Nehru Nagar Parish and Marthoma won the second, and in the third set
Marthoma Church was leading by 11-4, but when it was time to change
the court the youth of the Nehru Nagar Parish took the lead and
never gave the way for the Marthoma Parish youth. And won the
badminton title for the Parish.
At the presentation ceremony Fr. Alexander was the Chief Guest, the
Director for the youth, he distributed the trophy, certificate, cash
prize and the cheque for the winning team. All the participants were
honoured with the certificates.
