Decennial Celebration at Saint Francis of Assisi School,Chikodi
“Come let us build a united tomorrow” with this beautiful theme of the Decennial closing celebration, Principal Fr. Richie hoisted the school flag along with the teachers and the parliament members at 9 a.m.
In the evening a special welcome was accorded to the dignitaries near the entrance gate. Most Rev. Peter Machado, Bishop of Belgaum and Rev. Fr. Dolphy Pais, Provincial, Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka were garlanded and welcomed by Fr. Arun and Fr. Richie. The school band, the contingent of welcome group consisting of parents, the students and the teachers marched forward in a ceremonial manner towards the celebrative stage. Sr. Rachael Tobias, Provincial of Augustinian Sisters and Sri. Ganesh Hukkeri, Member Zilla Panchayat, Belgaum were the guests of honor, accompanied the President. Bishop Most Rev. Dr Peter Machado inaugurated the Decennial function of the day by unfurling the symbol which rotated throughout the program. Fr. Richie welcomed the prominent dignitaries and the gathering with apt words and gestures. He also assured the parents that with real dedication and commitment we will standardize the school with new campus looks. The students from 1st Std to 9th Std had wonderfully conferred the entire celebration with their innocent and sweet smiles. The cultural items were presented in a stupendous manner, one after the other with real class and beauty. The entire program was divided into four stages: early stage, the creation by the KG classes, community stage depicted the medieval period enacted by the Primary students, medley show depicted the Middle Ages enacted by the higher primary and modern age was beautifully brought to the floor by the High School section. The robotics, the woofs and the medley rocked the stage and left the audience spellbound. The finale was a heart touching throb of peace prayer and heal the world on the stage and lighted candles in the hands of the students in all the three floors had rapture the audience with standing ovation. The school flag was brought down by the Principal and handed over to the Prime Minister Master Deshpande. Fire crackers went up to mark the finale of the Decennial. Bishop Most Rev. Dr Peter Machado lauded the school and the students for the agility and the capacity built up. He also stated that having a school of this caliber is a great blessing of God. Sri Ganesh Hukkeri, having watched most of the students on the stage appreciated the campus, the discipline and assured to dig two bore wells for better water facility and to tar the school entrance road from the government funds. Fr. Dolphy Pais, Provincial, Holy Trinity Province aptly summarized what it meant to be education and education in his Presidential Address. All the dignitaries were felicitated with a shawl, garland, Decennial memento and Mysore peta. It was a beautiful act of collaboration, hard work and dedication by the Staff and Students as one Assisi family. Our beloved Friars from various schools and fraternities made it possible to witness this great celebration and rest others supported us with their powerful prayers. The Decennial celebration ends but the celebration of life and love continues.
