80TH YEAR OF EXISTENCE OF OFS UDUPI FRATERNITY
The OFS Udupi Fraternity celebrated 80th year of their existence. On this
occasion a Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish,
Udupi. Most Rev. Dr. Jerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi officiated the
Eucharist. Fr. Maxim Pinto and Fr John Fernandes concelebrated. In his
homily Fr Maxim said that St Francis of Assisi became the salt of the earth
and light of the world during his time. Today we need to continue the live
the same message of the gospel. In his message the Bishop spoke of three
points from the life of St Francis. 1. St Francis loved the poor. 2. He
loved the nature. 3. He lived the Gospel. He congratulated the OFS members
of Udupi Fraternity and thanked them for their good work. The parish priest
Rev. Fr Valerian welcomed the celebrant's and the congregation. He expressed
a word of gratitude for the silent presence and active role of OFS in the
